Amid the economic crisis in Pakistan, the people of Gilgit Baltistan have been protesting against the government and the army for the last 12 days. Their demand is that Gilgit Baltistan should be included in the Kargil district of Ladakh, India, by opening the Kargil road. He says that the government is discriminating against us, but now we will decide on Gilgit Baltistan.
Actually, Pakistan's army is settling people from other provinces there to change the demography. The local people allege that people from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are encroaching on their lands. These people have the support of the army. Army personnel are being deployed for their security. Due to this the local people are protesting. These people are also demanding India's intervention on the issue.
Videos of people performing are also surfacing. In which the protesters can be heard raising slogans. They are saying, 'Jod across, open the door of Kashmir'. The protesters say that the government of Islamabad will not take our decisions, nor will we allow them to do so. The decision regarding Gilgit-Baltistan will now be taken by the people here.
Army had reached to demolish people's property
Army personnel had arrived in Minawar village of Gilgit region to demolish the property of the local people. After which the local people raised slogans against the army. People allege that the army is systematically grabbing people's land to earn illegal money.
The people of Minawar village who are opposing the army are also getting the support of the people of the nearby areas. Many protesters say that even if the army shoots them, they will not allow them to occupy the land. A protester said that this is our ancestral film. We will not give it up at any cost.
Army captured 12 thousand kanals of land
One protester told – Pakistani army comes and beats us. They encroach on our land. The army has grabbed 12 thousand kanals of our land without giving any compensation. Now we will not give them even an inch of land.
Another protester told – Pakistani army is forcefully occupying our houses and farms. If any untoward incident happens then Pakistan Army will be responsible for it. The Chief Secretary should come to resolve this issue. Otherwise we will take this matter to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

As per reports, the people of Gilgit-Baltistan are facing many problems. Due to illegal tax, rising inflation and unemployment, anti-Pakistan sentiments are increasing among the people. People have to face police lathis for demanding fundamental rights.
