BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis will be the next CM of Maharashtra. Devendra Fadnavis' name has been finalized. On Wednesday, Devendra Fadnavis was elected the leader of the BJP Legislature Party. At the same time, there is a consensus on making Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar the Deputy CM of Maharashtra.

After this decision, now Devendra Fadnavis will meet the Governor of Maharashtra with the names of supporting MLAs and will stake claim to form the government. The leaders of the Mahayuti will go to the Raj Bhavan at 3.30 pm. The swearing-in ceremony is to be held at Azad Maidan in Maharashtra on December 5. Many senior BJP leaders will be present in it.

Devendra Fadnavis has also been a CM in the past.

The way the BJP has got seats in the assembly elections, it was believed that the next CM would be from BJP. Devendra Fadnavis has been elected from Nagpur South West seat. He has also been a CM in the past. Devendra Fadnavis, who held the responsibility of Deputy CM in the Eknath Shinde government, got a chance to become CM in 2019 as well, but he had to resign after just a few days.

BJP's spectacular performance under Fadnavis' leadership

The results of the Maharashtra assembly elections have been quite surprising. Here the Mahayuti once again not only came to power but also won 230 seats in the 288-member assembly, while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi was limited to only 50. BJP emerged as the largest party in the election. BJP won 132 seats, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena won 57 and Ajit Pawar's NCP won 41 seats. BJP also got the support of five independent MLAs.

Maha Vikas Aghadi faced disappointment.

On the other hand, the performance of Maha Vikas Aghadi was very disappointing. Contrary to the claims she was making during the elections, Congress won only 16 seats, Sharad Pawar's NCP-SP 10 and Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena won 20 seats.
