Whereas, Pegula was ousted by Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic.

 

Ukraine's Svitolina, who returned to professional tennis in April after becoming a mother in October last year, defeated Sviatek to enter the semi-finals of Wimbledon for the second time. Svitolina, the wife of French tennis star Gael Monfils, received a wild card entry to play at Wimbledon. He defeated Iga 7-5, 6-7(5), 6-2.

On the other hand, America's Jessica Pegula's dream of reaching the semi-finals of the Grand Slam could not be fulfilled again. She could not overcome the challenge of Vondrousova. Marketa, who made it to the final of the 2019 French Open, defeated Pegula 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of Wimbledon for the first time.

Marketa dominated the match with her strong serve. She served seven aces in the entire match, while 67 percent of her points came on the first serve. On the other hand, Pegula could not do well on her first serve. She could win only 57 percent of points on her first serve. However, both players broke each other's serve five times in the entire match.
