Tension has increased in relations between India and Canada. The Prime Minister of Canada stated to India regarding the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Additionally, Canada has expelled an Indian diplomat after alleging India was behind the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

On Wednesday, India also gave a befitting reply to the Canadian government. India's Ministry of External Affairs said, "PM Trudeau's allegations are baseless. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that such statements made by the PM are an attempt to divert attention from Khalistani terrorists and extremists, who have been receiving sanctuary in Canada."

At the same time, on Wednesday morning India summoned Canadian High Commissioner Cameron McKay. A decision has also been taken to expel the Canadian diplomat from India.

Canada's top diplomat expelled

"The High Commissioner of Canada to India was summoned today and informed of the Government of India's decision to expel a senior Canadian diplomat based in India," the Ministry of External Affairs said.

The Ministry of External Affairs further said, "The diplomat concerned has been asked to leave India within the next five days." This decision reflects the Government of India's growing concern over the interference of Canadian diplomats in our internal affairs and their involvement in anti-India activities."

What did Justin Trudeau say?

PM Justin Trudeau claimed that Canadian security agencies are investigating whether Indian agencies are behind the murder of Hardeep Singh. Trudeau also said that the involvement of another country or government in the murder of one of its citizens in Canada cannot be accepted.

What answer did India give?

The Indian government rejected Canada's allegations and said that such allegations are being made to divert attention from Khalistanis and extremists. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that such statements made by the PM are an attempt to divert attention from Khalistani terrorists and extremists, who have been getting shelter in Canada.

India also said that many Canadian politicians have adopted a soft attitude towards Khalistani terrorists and extremists, which is a matter of concern.

Trudeau will not be able to stay in the post of PM for long: Rajiv Dogra

After the Canadian High Commissioner was expelled, former Indian diplomat Rajeev Dogra said, "Justin Trudeau has been in trouble for some time. He fears that he will not be able to hold on to the post of Prime Minister of Canada for long. Therefore, he is trying to divert domestic attention to issues.
