On Wednesday, India also gave a befitting reply to the Canadian government. India's Ministry of External Affairs said, "PM Trudeau's allegations are baseless. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that such statements made by the PM are an attempt to divert attention from Khalistani terrorists and extremists, who have been receiving sanctuary in Canada."
At the same time, on Wednesday morning India summoned Canadian High Commissioner Cameron McKay. A decision has also been taken to expel the Canadian diplomat from India.
Canada's top diplomat expelled
"The High Commissioner of Canada to India was summoned today and informed of the Government of India's decision to expel a senior Canadian diplomat based in India," the Ministry of External Affairs said.
The Ministry of External Affairs further said, "The diplomat concerned has been asked to leave India within the next five days." This decision reflects the Government of India's growing concern over the interference of Canadian diplomats in our internal affairs and their involvement in anti-India activities."
What did Justin Trudeau say?
PM Justin Trudeau claimed that Canadian security agencies are investigating whether Indian agencies are behind the murder of Hardeep Singh. Trudeau also said that the involvement of another country or government in the murder of one of its citizens in Canada cannot be accepted.
