Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA) President and filmmaker Ashok Pandit also expressed displeasure over this incident. He said that a public servant must be polite and sensitive towards the public. In a statement issued by him, it was written, 'Pushing someone just because someone wants to take a selfie is highly reprehensible. It is an insult to the people who have elected him as a public representative.'

She also said that if Jaya Bachchan were not Amitabh Bachchan's wife, then perhaps people would not have taken her behavior so easily.
