FM on Inflation: Finance Minister comforts on inflation, government monitoring rising prices

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said that the government is taking steps where necessary by monitoring the price of each item separately, after the news of retail inflation in the country being continuously above.

 

Let us tell you that in the data released by the government on Tuesday, the retail inflation rate remains at 7.01 percent. Although it has registered a slight decline in comparison to May, it is still more than the RBI's level of relief by six percent. Earlier in May, the retail inflation rate was recorded at 7.04 percent.

 

Talking to reporters on Tuesday, the Finance Minister said that as the RBI has predicted, by the beginning of the second half of the current financial year, both the Reserve Bank and the government need to be careful. Let us tell you that the financial year of India is from April to March and its second half will start in October.

 

The Finance Minister has said that we need to be careful about the price rise. He has said that the government is keeping an eye on the increase in the price of every item which is becoming expensive, where it is needed, we are taking steps.

 

During this, the Finance Minister has also said that if the monsoon is favorable, then it will lead to good production and demand will increase in rural areas.
