Harmanpreet has been banned for two matches by the ICC. The BCCI has the opportunity to appeal against the punishment, but the board has decided not to appeal. Harmanpreet not only broke the stumps after getting out in that tied match but also lashed out at the umpires.
Harmanpreet accepted the mistake
The ICC found Harmanpreet guilty in two separate cases and was banned for two matches. He was suspended for the next two international matches after two separate breaches of the ICC Code of Conduct. The ICC in its release said that Harmanpreet had admitted the offence. The ICC had said, "The Indian captain admitted the offense and agreed to the sanctions proposed by Akhtar Ahmed of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees. As a result, there was no need for a formal hearing and the penalty was applied immediately."

In the one-day match against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Saturday (July 22), the Indian team lost three wickets for 139 runs while chasing the target. Yastika Bhatia was dismissed for five and Shefali Verma scored four runs. Smriti Mandhana scored 59 runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur came to the crease to support Harleen Deol after Mandhana's dismissal, but she could not bat for long. Harmanpreet got out LBW on the ball of Nahida Akhtar after scoring 14 runs.
Harmanpreet tried to sweep the fourth ball of Nahida in the 34th over. She missed the shot. When the bowler and fellow players appealed for an out, the umpire gave the decision against Harmanpreet.
