The population of humans in the world has now crossed 8 billion. In 1950, the number of human beings in the world was only 2.5 billion, now it has more than tripled. Not only this, the United Nations estimates that this figure can go up to 10.6 billion by 2086. At present, countries like China, India, Pakistan, and Brazil have a significant contribution to the world's population. But it is also a matter of concern how such a large population will get a better life and even if there is an immediate brake in the population, there is a danger of imbalance. If this happens, in the next few decades, the population of the elderly in the world will be very high and there will be a big decline in the workforce.

These people have 52 percent of the total income of the world. At the same time, 50 percent of the world's people have only 8.5 percent of their wealth, while the richest 10 percent of people emit 48 percent of carbon emissions. At the same time, the poor have to bear its loss. According to the United Nations, the average American earns 16 times more than the African. Today, 71 percent of the world's population lives in countries where inequality is high. India is also included in these countries.

 

82 crore people have a food shortage

 

Even today, 82 crore people in the world are not able to collect bread for two times. The Ukrainian war has added to the food and energy crisis. The biggest impact of this is on developing countries only. There are 14 million children who are severely malnourished. Worldwide, 45% of children who die are those who die of hunger and other causes. According to the United Nations, 150 million people died of starvation between 2019 and 2022. Hunger is directly related to poverty. According to the figures for 2021, 69 crore people i.e. 9 percent of the population in the world are victims of extreme poverty.

 

Natural disasters have also increased the crisis

 

Natural disasters have increased in the past. With increasing carbon emissions and rising temperatures, there are crises such as floods, hurricanes, and droughts. Every day 115 people are dying all over the world due to these disasters. However, due to the strengthening of the warning system and better disaster management, the number of deaths has come down.

 

7 out of 10 people will be in cities by 2050

 

Urbanization has increased rapidly around the world. Countries like America, China, and India are rapidly urbanizing. About 56 percent of the world's population, ie 4.4 billion people, live in cities today. It is estimated that 7 out of every 10 people will live in cities in 2050. This means that out of 8 billion people, about 6 billion will be settled in cities. This is also a difficult one and it is becoming difficult to provide things like health, food, and employment to the people. It is being said that the next 25 years will be very challenging in this matter.

 

When the population of the elderly will be equal to that of teenagers

 

Many countries of the world including India, and China are trying to control the population. However, in the meantime, there is a crisis that in the coming time there will be a big increase in the number of older people. By 2050, the elderly will have more population than the youth. Those 65 years of age or older will have more children than those under 5 years old. At the same time, their number will be equal to that of adolescents with a population of 12 years. However, a good aspect would be that by 2050 the average human lifespan would be 77.2 years.
