Luna-25 Crashed On Moon: Russia missed out on creating history, these are five reasons for Luna-25 mission failure

Russia's 'Mission Moon' suffered a major setback on Sunday. Russia's Luna-25 Spacecraft Crashed before landing on the lunar surface. Launched on August 14, Luna-25 was to land on the South Pole of the Moon. Russia's dream of landing a spacecraft on the south pole of the Moon is currently broken.

After almost five decades, Russia launched the Moon Mission to go to the Moon. Remember that Russia is the first country to send humans (men and women) into space. This feat was done during the Soviet Union.

Let us first understand why the Luna-25 spacecraft failed to successfully land on the moon.

1- Before landing on the moon, it was necessary to change the orbit of the Luna-25 spacecraft properly. The spacecraft failed to change orbit correctly.

2- The Russian space agency informed on Sunday that Luna-25 received the command to enter orbit and released thrust to send it into orbit for pre-landing. At the same time, an emergency arose and the maneuver of the mission could not be completed.

3- Luna-25 spacecraft crashed from the surface of the moon during the propulsion maneuver.

4- Frank Marchis, a French astronaut and meteorite study, informed that the Luna Globe Lander could not function properly due to software glitches.

5- The mission failed due to an unexpected long engine overfire during the crucial orbit adjustment.

The Russian Space Agency informed that an inter-agency commission would be set up to investigate the reasons for the failure of the mission. Let us tell you that for the first time in five decades, Russia's moon mission has failed. In 1976, Luna-24 was successfully sent to the moon during the Soviet Union era.

Luna-25 shared the picture

Luna-25 carried a lander with it and on August 19, Russia shared the picture sent through Luna-25. Russia informed us that this photo is a picture of Geman Crater.

Explain that the Zeman crater is the third largest crater in about 20 deep pits present on the south pole of the moon. This crater is about 190 km wide and 8 km deep.

It is not easy to land on the south pole of the moon

Landing a spacecraft on the Moon's South Pole is a tricky business because the northern or central region of the Moon is flat and gets the right amount of sunlight. At the same time, light does not reach the South Pole. At the same time, this area is full of potholes.

Apart from this, the gravity on the moon is 16.6 percent as compared to the Earth. At the same time, there is no satellite signal network on the moon. The polar regions of the Moon are very isolated terrain due to environmental difficulties. According to scientists, there may be an abundant amount of water in the rocks of polar craters.

Why was Luna-25 sent to the moon?

The aim of Russia to send Luna-25 to the south pole of the moon is similar to that of Chandrayaan-3. That is, the purpose of Luna-25 was to obtain samples of rock and dust present in this region of the moon.

Significantly, Russia is working on its upcoming Moon missions i.e. Luna-26, 27, and 28, but it is expected that there will be some delay in Russia's upcoming space mission. The Russian space program is struggling financially and technologically.

Now the eyes of the world on Chandrayaan-3

Remember that India's Chandrayaan-3 will be landed on the surface of the moon on August 23 at 6.4 pm. Even though Russia's Luna 25 failed to successfully reach the lunar surface, India as well as the whole world is hopeful that the lander Vikram will successfully land on the lunar surface. With this, ISRO will share the unsolved secret of the moon with the world.
