All of you are welcome in an agriculture-based and animal-loving country. He further said, "Our traditions and experiences about food and agriculture are as ancient as our country. In India, science is given priority in the agricultural tradition."
Addressing the program, PM Modi said, "India has a strong ecosystem related to education and research related to agriculture. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research itself has more than 100 research institutes. There are more than 500 colleges in India to study agriculture and related subjects. There are more than 700 Krishi Vigyan Kendras in India which help in delivering new technology to the farmers."
He further said, "The last time the ICAE conference was held in India, it was a challenging time for India's agriculture and food security. India had just gained independence. Today India is a food surplus country. Today India is the largest producer of milk, pulses, and spices. Today India is engaged in providing solutions to global food security and global nutrition security."
