Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched the second phase of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) and AMRUT 2.0 AMRUT. In his address on this occasion, he cautioned the countrymen about cleanliness and also appreciated those people who have been contributing to this. In his address, PM Modi touched upon many aspects of this mission.

Speaking at the program organized at the Dr. Ambedkar International Center in New Delhi, he said that in the year 2014, the goal of eliminating open defecation was set. It has been completed by constructing ten crore toilets. Now cities will be made garbage-free. Apart from this, there is better management of sewage and supply of clean water. The biggest allies in this campaign are the people who have been cleaning the garbage while bearing the stench. He has given his full contribution even during the Corona period. He also said that this scheme is inspired by Bapu's thinking. He has dedicated this scheme and its success to Mahatma Gandhi.

On this occasion, he also mentioned Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. He said that people coming from villages to cities get work here but the environment in which they live is very pathetic. The second phase of the Swachh Bharat Mission is a step towards fulfilling the dreams of Baba Saheb. He said that it is based on Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Prayas. Now people of all ages are connected to it. Now people of every district want their city to be ahead in cleanliness ranking.

PM Modi said that people in tribal areas complete their work with very few resources. Their special care is taken of cleanliness. Despite being the CM of Gujarat, every effort has been made to connect people with this mission. Along with this tourism also increased in Gujarat. There is a big difference between before and now. Now waste is taken from homes and it is disposed of on a scientific basis. People give information about the dirt on the app. Now there has been a change in the thinking of the people.

Before 2014, the very little budget was allocated in about seven years, whereas when our government came in, a budget of 4 lakh crores has been given. PM Modi said that India is disposing of one lakh tonnes of waste every day. Earlier it was only 20 percent whereas today it has gone up to 70 percent. Now it has to be taken up to 100 percent. For this, every city will have to come forward and provide modern technology there. The mountains of garbage built up in the cities will be eliminated. There is such a mountain in Delhi too which is waiting to be removed.

PM Modi also talked about Green Jobs on this occasion. The use of modern technology in keeping cities clean is continuously increasing. Referring to the new scrap policy of the government, he said that it is not only towards the waste to wealth but also it will contribute to reducing or eliminating pollution from the country. He said that we have to decide that from anywhere and howsoever the dirty water does not go into the rivers.

Under the second phase of the Swachh Bharat Mission, it will move towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals set for the year 2030. This plan is mainly related to Triple R. This includes Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. By resolving the waste on a scientific basis, success can be achieved in achieving this goal. This mission is completely paperless and has been approved by all the states and local urban bodies of the country on a digital basis. PM Modi said that under PM Svanidhi Yojana, about two and a half thousand crore rupees have been transferred to the accounts of lakhs of street vendors. The maximum number of street vendors have been given loans in UP and Madhya Pradesh.
