The mortal remains of the martyr were brought to Lansdowne Army Headquarters on Sunday evening by a special aircraft from Rajouri to Jolly Grant and then by a special army vehicle.
On Monday morning, the body was to be brought to the village for the last glimpse. But his body could not reach the village till noon due to the closure of the road due to rain. After this, the last rites of the martyr were to be performed with military honors at the ancestral ghat of the village itself.

Naik Harendra Singh (35), son of Naik Harendra Singh (35), resident of Pipalsari village of Block Rikhnikhal, was posted in the 16th Garhwal Rifles. Martyr's mother Sarojini Devi and father former soldier Chhawan Singh Rawat live in their native village Peepalsari, while his wife Lata Devi lives in Gadhicant, Dehradun with both children.

The information about his martyrdom was given to him late on Saturday evening, but Harendra's mother was informed about it only on Sunday morning. Since then the mother's condition is bad.
