IND vs ENG: Jonny Bairstow's bat did not work against India, could not score a single half-century in eight innings

Jonny Bairstow could not perform anything special in the ongoing five-match Test series between India and England. He has not played a single half-century in the four Test matches played so far. Apart from this, he was out once for zero. Kuldeep Yadav made him his victim in the second innings of the third test.

 

Bairstow, who played 99 Test matches for England, proved to be a flop on Indian soil. Far from being able to fire with the bat in front of the Indian bowlers, he could not even stay on the wicket for long. He has not even been able to touch the 40-run mark in the last eight innings. This is Bairstow's worst performance against India so far.

 

 

Bairstow was seen struggling

England had defeated India by 28 runs in the first match. During this, Ben Stokes scored 70 runs in the first innings and Ollie Pope scored 196 runs in the second innings. Bairstow scored 37 and 10 runs in the Hyderabad Test. Bairstow was seen struggling in the second match also. In the first innings against India, he returned to the pavilion after scoring 25 runs in 39 balls. He could score only 26 runs in the second innings. In this match, Jasprit Bumrah made the English batsman his victim.

 

The pavilion returned to zero

In the third test, Team India defeated England by a huge margin of 434 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja made important contributions to this historic victory of India. While the young batsman scored a double century in the second innings, Jadeja took a total of seven wickets. The Indian bowler once again made Bairstow his victim. He returned to the pavilion after scoring four runs in three balls. Earlier in the Hyderabad Test, Jadeja had dismissed the English batsman. At the same time, in the second innings, Kuldeep Yadav troubled Bairstow with his spin and sent him out of the dugout without opening the account.

 

Jadeja again targeted Bairstow in the fourth test

In the fourth Test match, India defeated England by five wickets and took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series. In this match, Joe Root scored a century against India. At the same time, Bairstow proved to be a failure in this match. Ashwin made him his victim in the first innings. At the same time, in the second innings, Ravindra Jadeja once again sent the English batsmen to the pavilion. During this, Bairstow scored 38 runs in 35 balls and 30 runs in 42 balls. The final match of the India vs England series will be played in Dharamshala. It is expected that Jonny Bairstow will be seen performing strongly in this match.
