Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has undergone heel surgery. He shared information about his treatment by sharing pictures on the social media platform X. Giving information about the successful surgery, Shami said that he is recovering. According to Shami, it will take some time to recover completely, but he is confident of returning to the cricket field. Showing amazing enthusiasm for the comeback, Shami said, 'Just now a successful operation on the Achilles tendon of the heel has been done! It will take some time to recover, but I am very eager to get back on my feet.

Got injured during the World Cup

Shami was injured during the ODI World Cup Final 2023 held at Narendra Modi Stadium on 19 November. He played in the World Cup with an injured ankle. He performed brilliantly in the tournament and took 24 wickets in seven matches. He was the bowler who took the most wickets. However, after this, he is continuously away from cricket action.

Shami will not be able to play even IPL

There is still about a month left for IPL 2024 to start. Before that, the champion team of 2022 and the runner-up of 2023 Gujarat Titans suffered a big setback. News agency PTI quoted a BCCI source as saying that Shami has been ruled out of the entire IPL season due to a left ankle injury. It is noteworthy that Shami was not even selected for the South African tour due to injury. Apart from this, he was also out of the Test series against England. Shami's absence can be very harmful to Gujarat. The team is already facing losses due to Hardik Pandya leaving Gujarat and going to Mumbai Indians. Hardik, who was the captain of Gujarat, was traded by Mumbai to GT before the auction last year.
