LSG vs CSK: Embarrassing record added to Krunal Pandya's name as soon as he became captain, pavilion returned on a golden duck

In the 45th match of IPL 2023, Lucknow Super Giants are clashing with Chennai Super Kings. CSK has won the toss and invited Lucknow to bat first. However, Lucknow has had a very poor start and half the team has returned to the pavilion. Krunal Pandya, who was handling the responsibility of captaincy in place of Rahul, also could not show anything special on the home ground and he returned to the pavilion on Golden Duck.

Krunal failed

Lucknow's stand-in captain Krunal Pandya came to the crease after Kyle Mayers and Manan Vohra returned to the pavilion. CSK spin bowler Mahesh Teekshana, who showed the way to the pavilion by clean bowling Manan Vohra, made Krunal walk on the very first ball. Teekshana's ball took the inside edge of Krunal's bat and went to sleep, where Rahane took an excellent catch while bending down.

An embarrassing record recorded in Krunal's name

Along with returning to the pavilion on Golden Duck, an embarrassing record has also been recorded in Krunal's name. Krunal has become the third batsman in the history of IPL to get out on zero in the captain's debut match. Before him, this shameful record in the Indian Premier League is recorded in the names of VVS Laxman and Adam Markram. Markram was made to walk on zero in the very first match as the captain of Hyderabad this year. At the same time, Laxman was out on a duck in the year 2008.

Poor start of Lucknow

Opting to bat after losing the toss, Lucknow Super Giants got off to a bad start. Manan Vohra, who was included in the team in place of captain KL Rahul, could not show anything special with the bat and got out after scoring just 10 runs. At the same time, Moin Ali showed the way to the pavilion with a score of 14 to Kyle Mayers.
