Baba Siddique was murdered on the night of Dussehra.
Senior Maharashtra leader Baba Siddique was shot dead on the night of Dussehra on October 12. The firing was done near the office of his son MLA Zeeshan Siddique. Three attackers fired, who came in an auto. While fleeing, two attackers were caught by Mumbai Police, but one escaped. Since then, many revelations have been made in the investigation and many more accused were caught.
The involvement of Lawrence Bishnoi's gang in Baba Siddique's murder case also came to light. Apart from this, the arrested accused also made many shocking revelations during interrogation. It was told that on the night of Baba Siddique's murder, his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique was also targeted. The attackers were told to kill both of them, but if they did not get a chance, then shoot at whoever came in front. Recently, Zeeshan Siddique's picture has also been found in the phone of one of the attackers accused.
Long planning was done for the attack.
The arrested accused told the police during interrogation that they were going to get Rs 2.5-3 lakh for this. However, the demand was kept for Rs 1 crore. At the same time, the accused were living in a rented house in Kurla, Mumbai for a month and used to do recce of Baba-Zeeshan Siddique's house and office. After this, on the night of Dussehra, they fired bullets amidst the sound of firecrackers, due to which for some time people could not understand what happened.
After Baba Siddique was shot, he was immediately taken to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, but he died during treatment. Now the police have also raised questions on the role of the security guard in the investigation. Why did Baba Siddique's security personnel not fire back at the attackers or try to save Baba Siddique? An internal investigation has been started on this. At the same time, the security guard has also been suspended.
