Maldives Vs Lakshadweep: The lakshadweep vs Maldives dispute has been in the headlines for quite some time. Many Bollywood celebs came together to promote Indian tourism and islands. Many celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan hit back at Maldives ministers for their hate speech. Now the film industry union Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has also taken a big decision.

 

FWICE's anger on Maldives

Last Wednesday, FWICE issued a press release strongly condemning the comments made by Maldivian ministers on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appealed to all film producers to cancel their shoots in Maldives. Issuing the press release, it was written that 'in solidarity with the country and its broader culture, FWICE members have decided to boycott Maldives for its shooting locations.

 

Along with this, he encouraged the manufacturers to select similar locations in India. Along with this, it was written that 'We all stand in strong support of our Prime Minister and our nation'.

 

Why was Maldives boycotted?

Recently, indecent remarks were made by Maldivian ministers against Lakshadweep and PM Modi, after which this entire controversy emerged. After this, the entire Bollywood and the entire country have stood against the Maldives. The Maldives started being boycotted on every social media platform.

Many B Town celebs including Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kartik Aryan, John Abraham, Shraddha Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff started promoting Indian islands like Lakshadweep on every social media platform. Along with this, he also strongly condemned the hateful and racist comments made by Maldivian ministers on Indians.
