Indian team's star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has achieved a double feat on the third day of the third Test match against Australia. Bumrah took six wickets for 76 runs in the first innings of the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy being played at Gabba in Brisbane. Bumrah has been India's most successful bowler in this series. He played an important role in the team's victory in the first match played in Perth.

Five wickets were taken on the second day.

On the second day of the third Test, amidst the strong partnership of Travis Head and Steve Smith, it was Bumrah who was successful in bringing India back into the match. Bumrah wreaked havoc in the first session with the new ball and gave two blows by dismissing Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney. After this, he broke the 242-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Head and Smith. He got Smith caught by Rohit Sharma. Then got Head caught by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. After dismissing both of them, Bumrah also got Mitchell Marsh caught by Kohli.

Bumrah left behind Erapalli Prasanna

Bumrah's brilliant bowling continued on the third day on Monday. He sent Mitchell Starc to the pavilion by getting him caught by Pant, who became his sixth victim. Bumrah has taken the highest number of 18 wickets in this series so far. These include two fifers. This spell of Bumrah is the best performance of any Indian bowler at the Gabba ground in Brisbane. In this case, he left behind Erapalli Prasanna, who took six wickets for 104 runs in the second innings of the third Test played between India and Australia in January 1968.

Took fifty wickets in Australia

With this, Bumrah also succeeded in completing 50 Test wickets on Australian soil. Umesh Yadav has taken more wickets on Australian soil than Bumrah. Umesh has taken 53 wickets in 17 matches, while Bumrah has completed 50 wickets in just 10 matches. The Indian fast bowler has an average of 17.62 and he will have a chance to surpass Kapil Dev's record in Australia. Kapil has taken 51 wickets in Australia and Bumrah will overtake Kapil in this matter as soon as he takes two wickets.
