Violence continues unabated in Manipur. On the night of June 6, there was an exchange of fire between the security forces and the protesters. Firing continues for two consecutive days

Report to be submitted in six months
The central government has constituted a three-member inquiry team to investigate the violence. The team includes retired IAS officer Himanshu Shekhar Das and retired IPS officer Prabhakar Aloka. Former Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Ajay Lamba will head the probe team. The Center has asked to submit the probe report within a maximum of six months after the first meeting of the team. According to the order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, information about the reasons for the violence and how the violence spread across the state has been asked to be included in the investigation report.
