
CPI (M) has announced a boycott of vote counting in Tripura by-elections alleging large-scale rigging. "We will boycott the counting of votes as the Election Commission did not take steps to prevent large-scale rigging in the Tripura by-elections," the CPI(M)-led Left Front announced on Thursday (September 7).
Voting was held on Tuesday for the by-elections on Dhanpur and Boxanagar assembly seats of Sipahijala district of the state. On average, voting was 86.50 percent on both the seats. The Left Front accused the Election Commission and said that there was large-scale rigging during voting.

Therefore, we have decided to boycott the counting."
