Neeraj Chopra: India's 'Golden Boy' Neeraj Chopra won gold in China too, and Kishore Jena won silver.

Neeraj Chopra's magic was also seen in the Asian Games 2023. Neeraj has added another gold medal to India in the tournament being played on Chinese soil. Neeraj won the gold medal by throwing the javelin 88.88 meters in his fourth attempt. Apart from Neeraj, Kishore Jena also performed brilliantly and won the silver medal. For the first time in the history of the Asian Games, India has won gold and silver medals simultaneously in javelin throw.

Neeraj Chopra threw the first throw 85 meters in the final event of the Javelin Throw, but the match officials did not declare this throw as legitimate. There was a long controversy regarding this throw of Neeraj and after this, the Indian athlete was again given a chance to throw first. Neeraj threw his first throw 82.38 meters away. After this, in the second attempt, Neeraj threw the javelin 84.49 meters and achieved the number one position.

 

Neeraj faced tough competition from his countryman Kishore Jena for the gold medal. Jena threw 86.77 meters in her third attempt and pushed Neeraj to second place. However, after this, in his fourth attempt, Neeraj gave his full strength and threw the javelin 88.88 meters confirming his gold medal in the Asian Games 2023.

 

Kishore Jena got silver

Kishore Jena, who gave a tough fight to Neeraj in the final match, won the silver medal. Jena won the silver medal by throwing the best throw of her career in the final. Kishore Jena won the silver medal by throwing the javelin 87.54 meters in his fourth attempt. Along with the silver medal, Kishore has also qualified for the Paris Olympics.
