Bahraich Violence: The biggest revelation so far in Bahraich violence, there would have been no ruckus if the officers had listened to the SO

The violence that took place during the Durga idol immersion in the Mahsi tehsil area of Bahraich district is the result of the negligence of the police officers. Hardi police station is located in the Maharajganj town where the violence took place. The SO here had sent a letter to the senior police officials two days before the idol immersion and demanded the deployment of PAC and the Central Police Force. However the police officers did not pay heed to the SO's words, the result of which was that violence spread in the entire district. A youth was killed. However, now when the negligence came to light, the government first suspended CO Mahsi, while on Monday, ASP Rural Pavitra Mohan Tripathi was also removed and attached to the DGP office. Durgashankar Tiwari has been appointed as the new ASP.

The possibility of a large number of people participating in the idol immersion procession on October 13 in the Maharajganj town of Hardi police station area and the atmosphere getting spoiled during this time was already expressed. Suresh Kumar Verma, the then Hardi SO, had sent a letter to his higher officials demanding the deployment of one and a half-section PAC and paramilitary force to properly handle the immersion in the area. However, the police officers did not pay heed to the SO's letter and did not properly deploy police security in the Maharajganj immersion procession.

The result of this was that violence took place here and a youth named Ramgopal Mishra lost his life. Since this incident, the police and administration are still working hard to make the atmosphere completely peaceful in the entire district. If attention had been paid to the SO's letter and a heavy police force had been deployed there, this violence would not have happened. Amar Ujala also has the letter sent by the SO to the officers demanding police.

ASP failed in policing

PPS officer Pavitra Mohan Tripathi, who took over as ASP Rural in the district on 23 February 2023, was not very successful in policing here. Many major incidents took place in his area. Cases like murder, theft, and robbery took place. Violence broke out between two communities in Nanpara town and then he lost his chair due to negligence in Mahsi violence. The ASP's behavior was not good with the media as well as with the general public. The result of this was that crime and criminals remained unbridled in the rural areas.

Whose turn is next after ASP, CO, Tehsildar?

CO Mahsi has been suspended in this case. The outpost in charge and SO have also been suspended. The Tehsildar has also been removed. The ASP has also been removed. But still, many officers are involved in the shadow of failure to stop the violence. In such a situation, strict action is expected against these officers at the government level in the coming time.

Life started becoming normal in Maharajganj town under the shadow of bayonets.

Life was seen returning to normal on Monday in Maharajganj town of Mahsi tehsil under the shadow of bayonets. Shops also opened. People were seen coming out of their homes and doing their daily chores. At the same time, the affected people are feeling relieved due to the High Court's stay on the demolition action of the Public Works Department. After the murder of Ram Gopal Mishra and the violence that followed, notices of encroachment were passed on 23 houses. On Monday, most of the houses with notices remained closed. People were present in some houses, but they were reluctant to talk.

Rajkishore Gupta, a resident of Maharajganj town, said that people are still terrified. Meanwhile, Mohammad Shamim, former Pradhan Chandpaiya Shakeel Ahmed said that the atmosphere is calm. Many people had left their homes due to fear. Everyone is slowly returning. People are happy after the court's order.
