Shiv Sena rebel MLA Uddhav's cousin Raj Thackeray's party may join Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. The reason behind this is that despite Shinde having the support of more than two-thirds, that is, 37 MLAs, it is not easy to get the recognition of a separate party in the assembly. If the rebel group wants a solution to the issue before the presidential election, then the easiest way for it is to merge itself with some party. In such a situation, there is a big possibility of joining MNS.
A big leader associated with MNS has told Dainik Bhaskar that an offer has come from the Shinde faction. However, it is yet to be considered by the MNS chief. The MNS leader, on the condition of anonymity, also said that there is no end to any possibility in politics. The MNS leader also said that people from both sides have the same ideology, so if they come together then it will be good for the people of Maharashtra. However, the discussion has only started between the two sides.
Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde has also spoken to Raj Thackeray thrice. However, the MNS leader has called it a call to know about Raj Thackeray's health. Let us tell you that a few days ago Raj Thackeray had hip replacement surgery.
That's why the Shinde faction can merge with MNS
If political experts are to be believed, the Shinde faction wants to merge with an already existing political party at the earliest to save its 16 MLAs who were declared ineligible by Deputy Speaker Narhari Jirwal. MNS may have one MLA in the assembly, but the party is established in almost the whole of Maharashtra. In such a situation, instead of merging with any other party, MNS would be the most suitable party for the Shinde faction. Both are influenced by the ideology of Balasaheb and like him are talking about moving forward on the issue of radical Hindutva.
The merger of MNS with BJP had also come to the fore.
In Maharashtra, the BJP had made preparations to use the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) to take on the Shiv Sena. According to sources, after several rounds of talks, the discussion of a merger of both the parties had also started on June 14. This alliance was also flagged off by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. In such a situation, it is believed that BJP can make its plan successful by adding the Shinde faction to MNS.
There was a discussion between the two parties in front of the people of the Sangh.
It was also discussed that in the upcoming municipal elections, BJP will give some seats to MNS in Mumbai and Pune. In the rest of the state, the BJP will contest the elections on its own. According to sources, the last important meeting between MNS and BJP in this regard was held on April 21. Sangh people were also present in this. In this meeting, an in-principle agreement was reached on the alliance. A few other questions, including seat-sharing, were decided later.
The rebel Shinde faction also has the option of going with the Prahar organization.
The rebel MLAs staying in Guwahati hotel have two other options apart from MNS. First, the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has been supporting him from behind the scenes till now, and the second, along with 39 MLAs of Shiv Sena, as well as sitting in Guwahati MLA Bacchu Kadu's Prahar Party. Bacchu Kadu, president of the Prahar Party, is till now a minister in the Shiv Sena government. Although Bacchu is said to have been winning elections on his own, he will no longer be under Eknath Shinde.
Raj wants to take advantage of Shiv Sena's loose grip on Hindutva
For the past few months, MNS chief Raj Thackeray has been attacking the Mahavikas Aghadi government over loudspeakers installed at religious places in Maharashtra. He has also criticized the Maharashtra government on this issue and praised the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh. Shiv Sena, once considered a supporter of Marathi manush and staunch Hindutva in Maharashtra politics, has got a chance to play on the front foot with Shiv Sena loosening its grip on Hindutva issues.
Political experts believe that Raj Thackeray's Hindutva agenda is not sudden, but a deliberate move and is part of the political expansion of the MNS. Therefore, the possibility of a merger of the Shinde faction with MNS seems strong.
MNS can improve its image by merging with the Shinde faction
There are 26% Marathi voters in Mumbai, while the rest 64% are from North Indians, Gujaratis and others. They vote for Shiv Sena along with BJP. In such a situation, if the Shinde faction merges with the MNS, then Raj Thackeray's party can get a big expansion and the image of the MNS as an anti-North Indian party can also be washed away.
There is a possibility of a merger of the rebel Shinde faction with MNS
Both sides are telling Balasaheb Thackeray as their leader and his Hindutva ideology as their ideology.
Coming together of both will not create a situation of confrontation among the grassroots workers. Shiv Sainik, who was dissatisfied due to Shiv Sena's departure from Congress and NCP, will also accept MNS.
BJP wants to raise Raj Thackeray as the new Hindutva leader to damage Uddhav Thackeray's, Shiv Sena. So this will be the biggest opportunity for Raj Thackeray.
Raj also wants to breathe new life into his party. In such a situation, if the Shinde faction comes with them and they form the government in Maharashtra with the BJP, then their party will be firmly established in the whole of Maharashtra.
BJP plans that by joining MNS, they can make a dent in the votes of Uddhav's Shiv Sena. This will have a huge impact on Mumbai, Pune, and other municipal elections in the state.
The BJP hopes that the MNS in its new avatar with the Shinde faction and the saffron flag can win the local body elections, at least in the big cities Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali, and Nashik.
The proximity of the BJP and Raj Thackeray has given an alternative platform to Shiv Sainiks who are angry about the weakening of Uddhav Thackeray's Hindutva ideology.
Uddhav's hold on Shiv Sena's organization still
39 out of 55 Shiv Sena MLAs are with Eknath Shinde, but on the organizational front, Uddhav is stronger than Shinde. Shiv Sena organization has 12 leaders, 30 deputy leaders, 5 secretaries, a chief spokesperson, and most of the 10 spokespersons are seen standing with him.
