Manipur Violence: Curfew relaxation extended in Imphal districts, security forces conduct search operation

Manipur Violence: Given the improvement in the law and order situation, the Manipur government has extended the relaxation of the curfew by one hour in Imphal East and West districts. Its information has been given in an official statement. The curfew relaxation period in both the districts of Imphal was now from 5 am to 8 pm.

 

Separate orders issued by the office of the District Magistrates of both districts said there has been considerable improvement in law and order and relaxation of restrictions on movement to facilitate the general public to procure essential commodities including medicines and food items. In other districts of the Valley, Thoubal, Kakching, and Bishnupur, the curfew relaxation period remained unchanged from 5 am to 5 pm.

 

A separate press release issued by the Manipur Police Control Room said that the situation in the state is still volatile and tense but under control and security forces have launched search operations in sensitive and border areas of the state.

 

Meanwhile, officials said Kom Union Manipur president Serto Ahao Kom (45) was admitted to the hospital after he was physically assaulted by terrorists near Chingfei village in Churachandpur district late on Tuesday night.
