New Delhi, Feb 16 (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi Monday denied having any intention of dissolving the assembly or recommending President's rule in the state.
"I have no intention of dissolving the assembly or recommending President's rule," Manjhi said, adding that he has come to Delhi to meet the central government ministers and not any Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader.
"I am not meeting BJP leaders, I am meeting ministers of central government. It is upto them( BJP) to support or not to support me," he added.
Bihar's ruling JD-U Feb 9 expelled Manjhi from the party for allegedly "indulging in anti-party activities". But Manjhi had refused to resign.
Manjhi was hand-picked by then chief minister Nitish Kumar to replace him after the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) faced a Lok Sabha debacle and Kumar resigned owning moral responsibility.
However, Manjhi revolted against him after the majority of JD-U MLAs picked Nitish Kumar as the legislature party leader, paving the way for him to stake claim to lead the government.
