
December 16, 1971, is the day when India inflicted a crushing defeat on Pakistan, leading to the liberation of Bangladesh. This day is celebrated as Vijay Diwas (Victory Day). On this 54th Vijay Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his greetings to everyone.
Sharing a post on the social media platform X, PM Modi remembered the brave soldiers of 1971 who played a crucial role in the liberation of Bangladesh. He paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the war.

PM Modi wrote on X, "On Vijay Diwas, we remember the brave soldiers whose courage and sacrifice led India to a historic victory in the 1971 war. Their unwavering resolve and selfless service protected our nation and etched this day forever in history as a moment of glory. The President said, "On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, I salute the brave sons of Mother India. Their valour, bravery, and dedication to the motherland will always make the country proud. In Operation Sindoor, the army performed brilliantly with the help of self-reliance, strategic determination, and modern warfare techniques. This is a source of inspiration for the entire country. I extend my best wishes to all the soldiers and their families. Jai Hind!"
