Operation Dost: Medical team of the Indian Army deployed in Turkey under Operation Dost reached India, operation completed

Indian Army Operation Dost in Turkey Earthquake The last team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), engaged in relief-rescue operations for earthquake victims in Turkey under Operation Dost of the Indian Army, has returned to India. "A 99-member self-contained team has successfully established and run a fully equipped 30-bed field hospital at Iskenderun, Hatay," Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.

 

According to reports, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on February 6 killed more than 45,000 people and left more than a million people homeless. India was among the first to provide help to Turkey and Syria during this crisis.

 

India launched Operation Dost to help the victims in both countries. India sent a large amount of relief material to Turkey and Syria and ran a mobile hospital. Two hundred and fifty soldiers of the Indian Army were deployed in the most affected areas of Turkey and Syria.
