At the same time, the opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha had the support of only 14 parties.
What is the value of the votes of MPs and MLAs across the country?
The sum of the vote value of all the MLAs across the country is 5,43,231. The sum of the value of votes of 233 MPs of Rajya Sabha and 543 of Lok Sabha is 5,43,200 776. The value of the total vote of MLAs and MPs together is called the 'Electoral College'. This number is 10,86,431. In this way, more than half a vote is needed to win. Meaning the candidate would need at least five lakh 43 thousand 216 votes to win.
Murmu can win by more than two lakh votes
The parties from which Murmu got support are 3.08 lakh votes for NDA, 32 thousand votes for BJD, 17,200 votes for AIADMK, 44,000 votes for YSR Congress, and 6500 votes for TDP, 25,000 votes for Shiv Sena, 5600 votes for JDS. Are included. Apart from this, adding the votes of other parties including JMM, SubhaSP, Murmu has more than 6.67 lakh votes.
This figure is about one and a half lakh more than the number required to win. Several members of the opposition have also cross-voted in favor of Murmu. Thus the margin of Murmu's win could be more than two lakhs.
Uttar Pradesh: Burst in Samajwadi Party
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had announced his support for the opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha in the presidential election. For this, he also held a meeting with MLAs and MPs. Even after this, Shivpal Singh Yadav, who won the assembly elections on an SP ticket, voted for NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu. Assam: 20 Congress MLAs claim cross voting
In Assam also, the wind was seen in favor of Murmu. Here the ruling BJP and the parties involved in its alliance had already announced to vote for the NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu. On the day of voting, AIUDF MLA Karim Uddin Barbhuiya claimed that 20 Congress MLAs have voted for Draupadi Murmu.
Gujarat and Jharkhand: NCP MLAs give a blow to their party
