After the killing of four members of an Indian-origin family in California, people have taken to the streets. Candle marches are being taken out everywhere. The white community has also protested the attacks on Indians.

On October 3 in California, Jasdeep Singh, his wife Jasleen Kaur, 8-month-old daughter Aarohi, and brother Amandeep Singh were kidnapped and killed. Their bodies were recovered on 6 October. The last rites of the four members of the Indian family will be performed today.

family appeals for help

Jasdeep's cousin Sukhdeep Singh said- After his departure, the family has been quite shattered. I don't know how to describe the pain and sorrow I am feeling. Ranjit Singh, close to the family said- Amidst this tremendous crisis, the victim's family needs our support and our help. So we appeal to the local community to stay with us and help the family.

Funds are being raised for Amandeep Singh's wife Jaspreet Kaur and their two children aged 9 and 6. The help aims to provide good education to the children.

Social atrocities on the rise in America

French American artist Michel Bergeron expressed surprise at the massacre, saying that he had come to America to earn a living. He was the support of his elderly parents. The local people protesting were holding placards in their hands. It was written on them – We stand with the Sikh community.

He said- No family should have to bear such a tragedy. Social activist and documentary filmmaker Valari Kaur said – It does not matter what was the motive of the murder. The big thing is that the killer killed even an 8-month-old girl. This case reminds us of the agony of social tyranny in America.

The accused has already gone to jail

Manuel and his brother Alberto have been arrested for the murder. Manuel has spent 11 years in prison in the robbery case. He has denied the murder.

kidnapped at gunpoint

US police officials released footage of the kidnapping. This revealed that the family was abducted at gunpoint in Merced. Undersheriff Corey Gibson told that Amandeep and Jasdeep had reached their office between 8:30 am and 8:40 am.

The footage showed that Jasdeep was seen talking with the suspect Jesus Manuel Salgado outside the building at around 9 pm on the night of the incident. Both walked towards the gate in which Singh was leading. Gibson said the suspect carried a white bag and then pulled out a gun. Then took all four by a pickup truck.

the American dream is broken

The family alleges that the way the family was abducted and killed, it seems that America is no longer safe for Indians. Jasdeep and Amandeep Singh came to America in 2002. His family friends told him that both brothers struggled a lot. For many nights they slept in their cars. After hard work, got the place. Coming to America has a dream, but after this incident, it is broken.
