Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait again targeted the central government on Monday regarding the issue of farmers. He accused the Center of betraying the farmers of the country. Tikait said, "The work of sprinkling salt on the wounds of the farmers by betraying the farmers of the country. It is clear from this betrayal of the farmers that the farmers of the country should be ready for a long struggle."

Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Tikait had said on Saturday that the fight would continue till a law on minimum support price for farmers' produce is enacted. In a tweet, Tikait said, "Families of farmers have lost over 700 of their loved ones in the agitation. Farmers will never forget these days of last year. MSP is the backbone of farmers and farmers want MSP guarantee law for farming." Save the future! The fight is on, the fight will continue."

Central Agricultural Laws were withdrawn

Significantly, on November 19 last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that a necessary bill would be brought in the winter session of Parliament to repeal the central agricultural laws. On the first day of the winter session, both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha passed a bill to repeal the Agriculture Act. President Ram Nath Kovind also gave his assent to the bill completing the process of the repeal of three agricultural laws.

Will Tikait campaign against BJP?

On campaigning against the BJP in the elections, Tikait said, "We have no such plan. I am not a politician, I stay away from political parties. I only talk about farmers' issues and talk to people." I urge my leaders to question. I will continue to raise farmers' issues."
