According to the document, the most serious threat to US national security is the PRC's aggressive attempt to change the look of the Indian Ocean region and the international order at its convenience. Regarding the Indo-Pacific region, it has been said that the department will also support allies and partners to deal with PRC operations in the East China Sea, Taiwan Strait, South China Sea, and disputed borders following US policy and international law.
