Batting first after losing the toss, India scored 199/2 in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan (89) was the top scorer, while Shreyas Iyer played an unbeaten inning of 57 runs. Captain Rohit Sharma scored 44 runs. In reply, Sri Lanka's team could score only 137 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Charit Aslanka scored the highest 53 (not out). Bad start for Sri Lanka

Yuzvendra Chahal took the wicket of captain Dasun Shanaka (3). Charit Aslanka, batting brilliantly, completed the third half-century of his T20 career in 43 balls. He remained unbeaten on 53. Dushmanta Chamira also played an unbeaten inning of 24 runs, but could not win the team.
