On Sunday night, 26 people were killed when a bus full of pilgrims fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand. Today has been two days since this incident. Now many emotional things are coming out. As all these people could go on pilgrimage, the family had made a lot of effort for this. Some borrowed money to make their parents a pilgrimage, and for some, the villagers collected money by collecting donations. Some people could not go for some reason, due to which their life was saved.

Rajendra Singh of Sata Buddh Singh village of Panna told that his father Rajaram Singh, mother Geeta Singh, and his aunt Janak Singh had gone on pilgrimage. He says that he used to talk on the phone once or twice daily. The conversation took place at 11 am before the accident. He had told me that the passing of the bus has been received. Now they will go towards Kedarnath. After 5 p.m. I thought that I am going on a difficult road, let me inquire. The phone was ringing, not received.

 

After some time a person named Uday Singh received the mobile of his father. He told us that the bus in which all our companions were there has fallen into the ditch. We were in that too. I was just eating the flips, then somehow I got saved by hanging from the tree. He told me that I was saved by luck, my legs are fractured. The bus has fallen into a gorge of 500 feet. It is difficult for anyone to escape. He could not tell how and where the accident happened. After this, I immediately called the collector and told him. He assured me to get the information. Told that the team has arrived. The minister has reached with the CM.

 

Relatives and villagers together gave money

 

Rajendra told that before Corona, the mind of the parents was to go on pilgrimage. This time he made up his mind that if the younger brother was not married, then he comes after doing the pilgrimage. Father used to practice medicine in the village. Had added some money for the trip. The rest of the relatives and villagers cooperated. Arranged around 2 lakh rupees. There was only a ticket for 44 thousand rupees. The rest were kept for need. The administration just refused to go there. Said what would you do by going there? In the deceased list of the accident, the name of the aunt is written, Janak Singh. Men are written, while they are women.

 

Information received from the control room of Uttarakhand at 1:30 pm

 

Prashant Garg of Simaria village told that father Jageshwar Prasad Garg and mother Anil Kumari had gone on pilgrimage. He had last spoken to him at around 4.30 pm before the accident. When a call came from the control room of Uttarakhand at 1.30 pm, the information was received. Their father was a teacher.

 

Similarly, an elder from Udla village was also going to accompany the relatives. The preparation was done. Tickets were also booked, but due to ill health at the last minute, the family members refused to go. At the same time, his younger brother and his wife of the family died in the accident.

 

Didn't let the father go at the last moment, so survived

 

Kaushal Kishore Sharma of Udla Padwan village told that his younger uncle Ram Bharosa Sharma and aunt Sheelabai had gone on pilgrimage. He has already come three times after visiting the Chardham. Now they were leaving for the fourth time. Apart from this, Mausi Saroj Kataiha and Mausiya Mainka Prasad had also gone from Mohandra. Apart from this, people from maternal uncle Harinarayan Dwivedi's family also visited. He had spoken to him before the accident at around 3.30 pm on Sunday. They told that they have left Rishikesh. Now going towards Kedarnath. The younger brother told me after seeing the news of the accident on TV. After that, we started taking his news. Called the bus agent of the pilgrimage, then got it closed. Then the minister of the area Brijendra Pratap Singh informed us at 9.30 that the uncle and aunt had died. Father was also going to accompany him on the journey, his ticket was also booked, and preparations were also completed. Suddenly his father refused at the last minute due to ill health, so he did not go.

 

Maximum deaths were from Sata village, 6 pilgrims from Mohandra

 

A maximum of 8 pilgrims from Sata Budh Singh village of Panna and 6 from Mohandra died in the accident. Apart from this, 2 pilgrims each from Koni, Powai, Simaria, and Udla along with 1 each from Chikhla, Bijawar, and Kakarhata lost their lives. Udai Singh of Chikhla and his wife Hakki along with Rajkunwar of Kakarhata were injured. He is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Uttarkashi.
