An RPF constable has executed the incident. RPF constable Chetan Kumar Chowdhary first shot his senior officer ASI Tika Ram Meena in a moving train, then killed 3 other passengers.

According to the Railways, the reason why the RPF jawan opened fire is yet to be ascertained. RPF has started an investigation. The Western Railway Police Commissioner said that RPF constable Chetan was not well and had lost his temper. However, he added that there was no argument between ASI Meena and Chetan.

Western Railway said that the RPF jawan shot and fled. The constable was caught at Mira Road with the help of Railway Police and RPF officials. The weapon has also been recovered from the accused.
