Jamiat Chief Madani: Maulana Madani said that Jihad should be taught in schools; he also took a dig at Congress; know what he said?

Maulana Mahmood Madani, on behalf of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, once again spoke on burning issues like jihad, national politics, and school curriculum. In addition to questioning the Congress party's support base, Madani also stressed the need to include jihad in school curricula across the country. Madani stated that those who oppose jihad are traitors and are spreading terrorism.

Madani also spoke on India's national anthem, Vande Mataram.

Earlier, in another interview, Madani had expressed concern about the misuse of the word "jihad." Madani stated that the word was being used as a slur. He stated, "If injustice is being committed, raising a voice against it is also jihad." Responding to a question about his comments on Vande Mataram, he said that coercion is currently being used. People are being told to chant it everywhere. ...This is not the idea of India."

The True Meaning of Jihad...

He said that the word "Jihad" was systematically used to vilify Islam. This trend continued for a long time. According to Madani, "Now Muslims are being abused at the government level. It is assumed that all Muslims are '"jihadis'" and '"troublemakers." In such a situation, it has become my responsibility to explain the true meaning of jihad."

Referring to an incident involving Pakistan and Pervez Musharraf, Madani said, "At that time, there was a 90% silent majority; now it has dropped to 60%." Responding to another question related to the Supreme Court, the Jamiat chief said, "You are accusing me of saying that the Supreme Court is wrong... I am not just an individual; I belong to an organization that is associated with a particular community. If I do not convey the sentiments of my community to the country, it would be unfair."

A warning given the current situation in the country...

He said, "The Constitution's concept is against majoritarianism. However, there is a point where we feel that you have to be Muslim to understand our sense of insecurity." Referring to the changed landscape, Jamiat chief Madani said, "Today we have been placed in a position where we feel marginalized. I respect that you may disagree with me, but if I want to say something, I can't. Given the current situation in the country, I want to issue a warning."

What Maulana Madani said about terrorism

Regarding his earlier statement on jihad and the controversy it generated, he said, "Whatever I have said has nothing to do with terrorism and violence. We are united on matters of national development and national security. When we agree on these issues, it is our collective responsibility to fight for them." Madani asked, "If a terrorist calls it jihad, should we agree that it is jihad and benefit the terrorist? Or should we disagree with him and attack his beliefs?"

Attempts to expose Pakistan to the world

Madani asked, "Will we use what Pakistan uses, or will we expose Pakistan to the world?" The Jamiat chief said, "People are not ready to understand. We have been trying to explain this for the last 30 years, not to fall into the trap of Pakistanis who are spreading misconceptions. They are strengthening themselves and weakening us... My only aim was to explain the correct definition of jihad."

What Madani said sparked controversy?

It is noteworthy that recently, Maulana Madani's comment, in which he said that jihad will continue until oppression ends, was in the news. Islamic scholar Maulana Mahmood Madani said that the current situation in the country is extremely sensitive and worrying. Sadly, a particular community is being targeted, while others are legally disempowered, socially isolated, and economically humiliated. Madani said that the enemies of Islam and Muslims have transformed the sacred concept of Jihad into a term associated with abuse, chaos, and violence. The use of terms like "Love Jihad," "Land Jihad," and "Education Jihad" deeply offends Muslims, insulting the religion.
