Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said that after 75 years of independence, the country's governance must be done in the language of the country. He said that we have to move forward with the goal that Hindi becomes the friend of all local languages and there is no competition with anyone.

For 75 years we have been working to promote the official language

The Union Home Minister was speaking on Monday after being unanimously re-elected as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Official Language Committee. After the formation of the new government, a meeting of the committee was held here on Monday to reconstitute the Parliamentary Official Language Committee, in which Shah was elected chairman. He was also the chairman of the committee from 2019 to 2024. He said that for the last 75 years, we have been working to promote the official language.

Work of adding thousands of words from local languages of India to Hindi

We should keep in mind that the speakers of any local language should not have an inferiority complex and Hindi should be generally accepted as a working language with consensus and agreement. The Union Home Minister said that we created a dictionary and along with the education department, added thousands of words from the local languages of India to Hindi.

Automatic translation of all languages on a technical basis

There were many administrative words whose synonyms were not available in Hindi, by accepting many words from other languages, we not only enriched Hindi and made it flexible but also strengthened the relationship between that language and Hindi. He said that the Official Language Department is making such software so that all the languages of the Eighth Schedule can be translated automatically on a technical basis.

A lot of hard work has been done in the last 5 years

According to Shah, once the translation work is completed, Hindi will be accepted and developed very fast in our work. He said that in the last 5 years, we have worked very hard and given three big sections of the committee's report to the President, which has never happened before. The Home Minister said that we have to maintain this pace.
