UIDAI: UIDAI registered more than 79 lakh children under the Bal Aadhaar initiative between April and July

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the custodian of Aadhaar, has created a new paradigm this year. An official statement on Monday said that the UIDIA has registered more than 79 lakh children under five years of age from April to July this year. According to the statement, this registration has been done as part of the new initiative to make the child Aadhar for children up to five years old and help parents and children to get many benefits.

"The Unique Identification Authority of India has registered more than 79 lakh children up to five years of age in the first four months (between April and July) of this financial year," an official statement from UIDIA said. As of March 2022, 2.64 crore children up to five years of age had a child base, which increased to 3.43 crore at the end of July.

 

UIDAI said, “In states like Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, more than 70 percent of children up to five years of age have already been registered. On the other hand, states and union territories like Jammu and Kashmir, Mizoram, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, and Lakshadweep have done a lot better in this direction. is 100 percent.

 

Mode of issue of Aadhaar

 

Biometric (fingerprint and iris) data collection is a key feature in the issuance of Aadhaar as it is required to establish its uniqueness. However, these biometrics are not collected for Aadhaar registration of children in the age group of 0-5 years.

 

However, it is issued in blue to differentiate the child's Aadhaar from the normal Aadhaar, with the remark that it is valid till the child attains the age of five years. Explain that on attaining the age of five years, the child is required to present his/her biometrics at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra to complete the mandatory biometric update process.

 

Purpose of Child Aadhar Card

 

Significantly, the Aadhaar card is an important document for the citizens of the country. It is used for a variety of tasks. Now it is needed to take advantage of many government schemes and services of the central and state. Along with this, no work is done in banks without it. Now the government has ordered to make a child Aadhar card for the children. The people of the country will have to make a child Aadhar card for children under this scheme at the age of five years or less. Through this scheme, children will also be given benefits from government schemes and services. Through this, it will also be easier for children to get admission to schools.

 

Key facts of Baal Aadhaar

 

Once the child base is created, it is mandatory to update it twice. This update is done after the age of five years and 15 years.

 

In Baal Aadhaar, the documents of parents are put because the biometrics of small babies are not developed. Therefore, biometric and iris scans of children are not included in this. Therefore, the documents of the mother or father are required to make a child Aadhaar.
