The Gujarat High Court upheld the conviction of Rahul Gandhi. Justice Hemant Prachhak dismissed Rahul Gandhi's plea seeking a stay on his sentence, saying at least 10 criminal cases were pending against him. Justice further said that no injustice will be done by the conviction. The conviction is just and proper. There is no need to interfere with the order passed earlier. Therefore the application is dismissed.

He was sentenced to two years, after which he lost his membership in Parliament. Now the High Court has also given them a blow. This would prevent him from contesting elections or seeking revocation of the suspension of his status as a Member of Parliament (MP). However, he can appeal to the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court.
