Jaishankar said, “We agreed on the Counter-Terrorism Working Group. We have also agreed to collaborate more closely with the Indian Ocean Dream Association. We are collectively offering different options to the region and many countries are interested in working with the Quad. Access to each other's naval and military facilities was difficult in terms of maritime security, but now the outlook has changed.
'Working on important things'
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that we (Quad) are now engaged in working together to help countries in the world to deal with humanitarian situations in natural disasters. We are working on the important things. It is not a military group.
Need to pay attention to what is happening in Ukraine
Antony Blinken said that we are focused on what is happening in Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression. Not that it matters only to Ukrainians, Ukraine, and Europe, but it matters to the whole world. If we allow Russia to do what they are doing in Ukraine, it will send a message to all aggressors around the world that they can do the same.
'India is a force'
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said that India is a power, and there can be no redefinition of the Indo-Pacific without India. We have seen that Indian is a civilizational power that brings a different approach to some of the challenges of the times.
'Quad is not a military group'
Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi said the Quad is not a military group. We don't try to exclude anyone (including China). As long as China follows international norms and laws, it is not a conflicting issue between China and the Quad.
