The Union government on Sunday said the country's defense exports have grown by 334 percent in the last five years and India is now exporting to more than 75 countries due to participatory efforts. PIB gave this information in a tweet. It states that the Indian defense sector with the second largest armed force is on the verge of revolution.

Indigenization and increased production

A poster has also been shared with the tweet highlighting indigenization and increased production in the defense sector. This includes the country's first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant recently inducted into the Navy, a squadron of indigenous state-of-the-art light helicopter MK-3 being inducted into the Indian Coast Guard, and the successful test-fire of the nuclear-powered new generation ballistic missile Agni-P. is also mentioned.

India is the largest importer of defense products

Just on Thursday, Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar said that the vision of the nation's Amritkal is to be among the top five countries in the field of defense production. India has been the largest importer of defense products in the last 75 years and the government wants to change this situation.

Earlier on Saturday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had said on Saturday that the Indian Army can give a befitting reply to any force that casts an evil eye on the country. He said that now that the Indian Army is negotiating with China, it is doing so with equal rights. The Defense Minister said that the Indian Army has the full confidence in self-defense due to the power of nuclear deterrence in its possession.
