Odisha: Goods train derails at Jajpur Korei railway station, tramples two people, eight badly injured

A painful accident took place at Jajpur Korai Railway Station early this morning. According to the primary information, two people died in this accident while more than eight people are badly injured. Teams of RPF police and fire brigade have been deployed for relief work.

 

More people feared being buried under the box

An accident relief team has been sent from Bhubaneswar. Khurda DRM has left for the accident site. After the accident, the police cordoned off the entire station premises. It is believed that some more people may be buried under the train compartment. The Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway has said that it is a tragic accident. Due to which this accident has happened, instructions have been given to investigate. Both the up and down services have been stopped after the accident.

According to the information received, this accident happened at 6:40 am today. An unruly goods train derailed and hit the ticket counter, trampling people on top of the platform. After this, the boxes were overturned one after the other. Till the time of writing the news, the bodies of two people have been taken out while 4 people have been taken to the hospital in critical condition.
