After giving the Waqf Bill a legal shape, the Sangh and the government have started preparing to take on the opposition in this matter. In this sequence, the Rashtriya Muslim Manch will clear the misconceptions being spread about the law through press conferences and seminars across the country, and will also count its benefits. At the same time, the government's strategy is to corner the opposition on the issue of misuse of Waqf properties and representation of only Ashraf (upper castes) in it.
The first attempt of the Sangh and the government was to break the perception created by selected important Muslim organizations and the opposition. They say that through this law, the government wants to take over the property and religious places of Muslims. The Muslim Manch will organize 100 press conferences and 500 seminars across the country and tell that this law is actually to give the poor and backward Muslims their rights, which have been kept away from to date. Vocal speakers of the Pasmanda community will be invited to the seminars. They will say that this law has no provision to interfere in the religious matters of Muslims.
This is in the interest of the Muslim community.
National Muslim Forum's patron Indresh Kumar has said that there is an attempt to create a wrong perception of the law out of selfishness. This will further strengthen the Muslim community's right to self-respect, justice, and equality. The law is going to increase mutual trust and cooperation in Indian society and not against anyone.
The government hopes to turn the tables.
A government minister said that in two months it will become public how a handful of people misused the Waqf properties. How shops opened where mosques are registered in the documents. How malls were built on Waqf land. Who are the undeclared heirs of these properties? The biggest question is why instead of getting unlimited income from Waqf, was it kept only to provide limited income? When the answers to all these questions will come out, then the tables will turn.
JDU is relaxed, said- we cannot get less votes than this
On the question of support for the Waqf law, a senior leader of the party said that in the last assembly elections, all 11 Muslim candidates of JDU lost. When JDU broke ties with the BJP in 2014 and fought separately, we were able to win only two seats. That too when no Chief Minister like CM Nitish did a big work in the interest of Muslims. This law is in favor of backward Muslims, so JDU supported the bill.
Bihar will become the first laboratory.
The first assembly election after the implementation of the law will be held in Bihar in October this year. The population of Muslims here is 17 percent, of which 73 percent are Pasmanda or backward Muslims. JDU and BJP want to give this law the color of Ashraf vs Pasmanda. CM Nitish, who has already played the Pasmanda card in the state, and his party are constantly saying that they support the bill keeping in mind the interests of Pasmanda Muslims.
