Weather: Heavy rain alert in Uttarakhand-Himachal and UP, forecast of 204.4 mm rainfall; keep an eye on the condition of the center

The difficulties of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, which are facing devastation due to heavy rains, and landslides, may increase further. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh. The department has issued an orange alert for these seven states from August 21 to 24.

 

The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall ranging from 115.6 to 204.4 mm in Himachal and Uttarakhand. Also said that during this time there is a possibility of flood and landslide in the affected areas. Apart from this, warnings have also been issued for thunderstorms and lightning.

 

 

Both these states have witnessed major devastation due to heavy rains and landslides in the last few weeks. More than 250 people have lost their lives in these states and property worth crores of rupees has also been damaged. In western Uttar Pradesh, too, heavy rains ranging from 115.6 to 204.4 mm are expected on August 22 and 23.

 

There may be heavy rains in eastern UP from 21 to 24 August. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains for the next three days in Rajasthan as well as in the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram.

The spokesman said that the Central Government is monitoring the situation in Himachal Pradesh around the clock. Providing necessary relief and financial help to the State Government to deal with the situation. 20 teams of NDRF, 9 columns of Army, and 3 helicopters of Air Force have been deployed for rescue and relief.

 

 

17 killed in Shimla landslide, 13 still missing

The death toll in the August 14 landslide in Shimla has risen to 17. The rescue team recovered one more body on Sunday, the seventh day after the accident. Three others are still missing. They are being searched.

 

 

Uttarakhand CM said – loss of one thousand crores, will seek help from the Center

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state has so far suffered a loss of Rs 1,000 crore due to natural calamities. We will seek help from the central government. He said that 21,000 hectares of sugarcane crops were damaged due to floods and waterlogging in the Haridwar district. Roads and bridges have been heavily damaged. After the rain subsides, work will start on a war footing to repair the roads.
