Samajwadi Party MLA Abu Azmi in Maharashtra has given a controversial statement, after which he seems to be in trouble. Abu Azmi has described Aurangzeb as an excellent administrator. Now after his statement, the political temperature in Maharashtra has risen.

 

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday demanded that SP MLA Abu Azmi be charged with treason for praising Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

 

After Eknath Shinde's statement, an FIR has been registered against Abu Azmi in Shinde's political stronghold Thane on the complaint of Lok Sabha MP Naresh Mhaske for trying to hurt religious sentiments.

 

What did Eknath Shinde say?

 

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was very angry after Abu Azmi's statement. He said that how can the person who killed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj after keeping him hostage for 40 days be an excellent administrator? How can Abu Azmi like Aurangzeb who looted the honor of his mother and sisters?

 

He demanded to register a case of treason against Abu Azmi and said that the SP MLA should apologize to the people of Maharashtra. Apart from Eknath Shinde, Shiv Sena UBT leader Aditya Thackeray has expressed displeasure over this statement of Abu Azmi.
