After the withdrawal of three controversial agricultural laws by the central government, the farmers' movement may have ended, but many problems of the farmers remain the same. The United Kisan Morcha (SKM) has once again held a press conference on Saturday, accusing the central and state governments of breach of promise. SKM today announced that on 31st January 2022, farmers across the country will be observed as 'Vaidkhhilfi Diwas'. During this, the effigies of PM Narendra Modi will be burnt at various places. The SKM said that as per the promises made to the farmers, no concrete decision has been taken by the state governments so far to not withdraw the cases filed against the farmers and to pay the compensation. There is resentment among the farmers about this.
Farmer leader Yudhveer Singh said that after the end of the agitation, during the review of the promises of the government today, it was realized that the government has not formed any committee on MSP, no contact has been made with the farmers' organizations. The government also did not fulfill its promise to withdraw the cases registered against the farmers. He said that except Haryana, none of the other states have taken back the cases registered against the farmers and have not made any announcement regarding compensation.
Yudhveer Singh said that therefore the farmers will once again demonstrate and burn effigies at the district headquarters, block headquarters, and tehsils of the whole country against the disobedience of the government. Even after this, if the government does not talk, then it continues to take a more obstinate attitude, then Mission UP will be started from February 1.
Along with this, the Kisan Morcha has also expressed deep displeasure for not taking any action against Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. He said that the second big issue of the farmers was Lakhimpur Kheri, but nothing has happened on it, while now the SIT has also termed it as an act of conspiracy. Even after this, the government is engaged in saving Ajay Mishra Teni. The Kisan Morcha today announced that from January 21, Kisan Saathi will go to Lakhimpur Kheri and will pressurize the government to take action.
