Navyuga, the company constructing it, will bear the expenses of the rescue operation to safely take out 41 laborers from the Silkyara tunnel. For this, the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) is preparing the details of the expenditure.

On November 12, at 5:30 am, 41 laborers were trapped due to falling debris in the Silkyara tunnel of Uttarkashi. A massive operation was launched to evict them. Teams of more than 12 agencies, scientists, and experts from across the country launched this operation on the 17th day, but during this time dozens of machines including American auger machines, plasma cutters, laser cutters, drilling machines, and robots were called for rescue.

Many machines, Chinook helicopters, and many were brought by air from other states to Jolly Grant Airport. It is estimated that huge expenditure will be incurred on these. NHIDCL is now collecting the details of the expenditure incurred in this entire rescue operation. Director Anshu Manish Khalkho said that the company will have to pay the bill for the expenses incurred in the campaign. However, the figure of how much has been spent on this campaign is not yet clear.

The workers had also removed the debris from inside.

After being trapped in the Silkyara tunnel, the helpless workers initially tried to remove the debris on their own. A video of this is going viral, in which two workers are removing the debris and their other colleagues are standing there and encouraging them. However, when he felt threatened, he retreated.
