While talking to the media, Mithun Chakraborty has requested Home Minister Amit Shah to deploy the army in West Bengal for 2 months. Without this, fair elections will never be possible in the state.
While talking to news agency IANS, Mithun Chakraborty said that I have requested the central government several times to impose President's rule in Bengal. Now I am doing it again. Even if President's rule is not imposed, it is necessary to deploy the army in West Bengal at least for 2 months during the elections.
Why is the army necessary in West Bengal?
Mithun Chakraborty said that the army should be deployed in West Bengal from the time the election dates are announced till 1 month after the results are declared. Free and fair elections are possible here only in the presence of the army. On the other hand, if the results come in favour of BJP, there will be more massacres on the streets, to control which the presence of the army is necessary.
