In IPL 2025, a match was played between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday. In this match, SRCH defeated Lucknow by six wickets. Once again, LSG captain Rishabh Pant flopped. One of the reasons for the poor performance of the Lucknow team this season is also Pant's poor batting. Pant was included in the team by Lucknow for Rs 27 crore in the mega auction, but he has been able to cross the 27-run mark only once so far. In the rest of the matches, he has not been able to score above 25 runs. Lucknow's team has also been out of the playoff race on Monday.

Pant has scored 135 runs in 11 innings so far this season at an average of 12.27 and a strike rate of 100. This includes only one half-century. His highest score in the remaining 10 innings has been 21 runs. Pant has been seen in control in 59.3 percent of his shots this season. He has played innings of 0, 15, 2, 2, 21, 63, 3, 0, 4, 18, and 7 runs this season. Except for his first IPL season i.e. 2016, Pant has never scored less than 300 runs in any season. This is only his second season when he has scored fewer than 200 runs. In 2016, Pant scored 198 runs in 10 matches. This includes one half-century.

Pant's IPL career

Pant has so far scored 3419 runs in 123 matches in his IPL career at an average of 32.88 and a strike rate of 146.11. This includes one century and 19 half-centuries. Pant emerged as the most expensive player in the mega auction for this season. He is the most expensive player in IPL history, but his performance has been poor. Due to this, his team has also suffered. It will be interesting to see how Lucknow franchise Sanjiv Goenka will react, because before Pant, KL Rahul, who was the captain of Lucknow, was reprimanded by Goenka in the middle of the field after his poor batting.

How many runs did Pant score in which season?

Pant scored 366 runs in 14 matches in 2017, 684 runs in 14 matches in 2018, 488 runs in 16 matches in 2019, 343 runs in 14 matches in 2020, 419 runs in 16 matches in 2021, 340 runs in 14 matches in 2022, and 446 runs in 13 matches in 2024. His best innings is the unbeaten 128 runs he scored against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018. Pant returned after a car accident last year and scored three half-centuries, but his performance this year has not been anything special. The Lucknow team had a good start but lost its way in the middle. The team has won five out of 12 matches so far and has lost seven.
