US Vice President Kamala Harris's husband Douglas Emhoff has been rescued by security after receiving a bomb threat. Douglas arrived at Dunbar High School in Washington DC on Tuesday, where he was to attend Black History Month celebrations involving Afro-Americans. The event was organized in honor of the achievements and struggles of Africans in American history.
Information received about the bomb in the school building
The official title of the husband of the US Vice President is that of Second Gentleman, that is, the second number citizen of the country. After they reached the school, a bomb was reported in the school building. After this, his security took him out safely. Other people present in the program were also asked to vacate the building immediately.
The entire staff and students of the school are also safe.
Washington Public Schools spokesperson Enrique Gutierrez said the school had received a bomb threat. Everyone's life was in danger. Because of this, care was taken to get everyone out. Students, teachers, and everyone are safe and the building has also been checked. Not much information has been shared by the school on this matter.
A bomb alert was received by the Secret Service
Imhoff's spokeswoman Katie Peters has informed us that Second Gentleman Emhoff is safe. He tweeted that the Secret Service had been alerted to security at a school where Emhoff was present with students and faculty. Then Secret Service agents reached the spot and took Emhoff out of the school building safely. Peters further stated that Emhoff is safe and that the school has been evacuated. We are grateful to the Secret Service and the DC Police.
