The match between Delhi and Railways in the Ranji Trophy is going on at Arun Jaitley Stadium. On the second day of the match, the second wicket of Delhi's first innings fell. After this, as soon as Virat Kohli came to bat, the whole stadium echoed with his name. The sound of 'Kohli-Kohli' was echoing in the whole stadium. However, soon there was silence in the stadium because Kohli became the victim of Himanshu Sangwan after a few minutes.

Himanshu clean-bowled Kohli. He could score six runs with the help of a four in 15 balls. As soon as he was out, fans were seen leaving the stadium. After the record audience on the first day of the match, thousands of fans reached out to see Kohli on the second day as well. This shows that his magic is still intact. Not only this, when Kohli was also doing shadow batting practice in the pavilion, and as soon as the camera focused on him, the fans present in the stadium cheered him fiercely.

Amazing enthusiasm for Kohli

The Railways team scored 241 runs in their first innings after being invited to bat first. By the time the first day's play ended, Delhi had scored 41 runs for the loss of one wicket in their first innings. Then Yash Dhul and Sanat Sangwan were unbeaten. Today also they came out to bat, but the fans turned against their team and started shouting Kohli-Kohli and praying for someone to get out. Delhi got the second blow in the form of Yash Dhul and he became the victim of Rahul Sharma after scoring 32 runs. After this Virat came to the field to bat and amazing enthusiasm was seen among the fans.

Silence spread in the stadium when Virat got out.

Even today more than 10 thousand spectators are present in the stadium to see Virat. The video of the enthusiasm of the fans has also surfaced. As Virat was moving towards the crease, the noise of the fans was increasing. Virat came out to bat after 12 years in Ranji but failed once again. The last time he played a match was against Uttar Pradesh in November 2012. There were a lot of expectations from Virat, but he could not do anything special. As soon as Virat got out, there was silence in the entire stadium. Fans could not believe that their favorite star got out so soon. Virat has been in poor form for some time. In the home Test series against New Zealand, he scored 91 runs in six innings and 190 runs in nine innings on the Australia tour. India lost both of these series.

Railways innings

Earlier, the fast bowling trio of Navdeep Saini, Siddhant Sharma, and Mani Grewal took advantage of the conditions on the first day and reduced the score of Railways to 66 runs for five wickets. After this, Upendra and experienced spinner Karn Sharma (50) took Railways to a respectable score by sharing 104 runs for the sixth wicket. Due to Kohli's presence, more than 12000 spectators reached the stadium on the first day. Delhi won the toss and decided to bowl first and due to this Kohli did not get a chance to bat on the first day. However, Upendra gave a wonderful display of his talent in front of the audience.

When Upendra was moving towards completing his third century of the season, he played a shot in the air on the ball of left-arm spinner Sumit Mathur and was caught at long off. He hit 10 fours and a six in his innings. For Delhi, Saini and Grewal bowled 18 and 17 overs respectively. Left-arm fast bowler Siddhant bowled nine overs. Saini and Siddhant took three wickets each while Grewal took two. However, the attraction of the first day was Kohli and he encouraged the spectators as well as his team players by staying on the field during the Railways innings. He stood in the slips most of the time.
