Earlier, the fast bowling trio of Navdeep Saini, Siddhant Sharma, and Mani Grewal took advantage of the conditions on the first day and reduced the score of Railways to 66 runs for five wickets. After this, Upendra and experienced spinner Karn Sharma (50) took Railways to a respectable score by sharing 104 runs for the sixth wicket. Due to Kohli's presence, more than 12000 spectators reached the stadium on the first day.
